This year’s #ThisIsTheNorth Convention is in SUNDERLAND!!  As ever, together we will continue to inspire and lead change in the North, and we would love for you to get involved.

Our mission is to bring people together for meaningful dialogue, sharing and action - be they community groups, young people, practitioners, policy makers, opinion formers, businesses, or MPs.

We believe that by sharing platforms with each other, collaborating in formulating a programme for our day and continuing to work together beyond Sunderland we will better understand the issues that affect us all and find solutions that work for more people.

We want to be part of a North that:

  • Is more inclusive and where our diverse voices and strengths are represented
  • Has a good economy that works for more people
  • Genuinely includes local people in local decision making
  • Has a focus on the value of all our places
  • Is an exemplar of collaboration, sharing and learning together

Charter

At last year’s convention we launched the Charter, we believe that, these foundations will transform the fortunes of peoples’ lives in the North.

If you’re up for celebrating the great things that are already happening in the North and you have ideas about how better lives for all of us in the North can be achieved – this event is for you! Come and be part of this years’ big conversation.

This is a great opportunity for you to raise awareness of your work, organisation, campaign or service and genuinely connect, collaborate and create, helping to shape the kind of North we all want to live and work in.

In addition to registering as a participant, there is an opportunity for organisations and people to send us your ideas for sessions you want to lead on the day:
