We all know about the high levels of inequality across our region, about the lack of access to reliable and affordable public transportation, and the rising numbers of people who are relying on food banks in order to put food on the table.
The Anon Podcast is produced by Big Issue North. Anon puts the spotlight on real people in the North, whose stories, if told at all, are rarely told well by the mainstream media.
What kind of region do we want to live in? That was the question that launched Same Skies in November 2015. A question we are still asking. But how we're asking it, where we're asking it and who is being asked is changing all the time.
The current gender spilt in the House of Commons stands at 32%, and at 26% in both the House of Lords and in the cabinet. We clearly need to be doing better.
With a theatrical history going back to the 60s, and a long-standing commitment to diversity, since 1997 Contact has placed young people under the age of 25 on its board of trustees, as independent staff appointment panels, and as young programmers informing what the theatre presents.
