Leading Recovery, Getting Level. Time for a Reset?

Monday 22 March, 10-12.30 - Online

Three Northern metro mayors – Andy Burnham, Steve Rotheram and Jamie Driscoll – will be listening to your views between 11-12.00.

Have your say about how we reset after Covid-19 with the People’s Powerhouse.

Between 11am-12pm our chair Edna Robinson (Big Life Group, Trafford Housing Trust) will be joined by three of the Northern mayors: Andy Burnham, Steve Rotheram and Jamie Driscoll, who want to hear from you about what needs to change.

We're here to ensure that what you say is heard.

The diversity of Northern voices is our strength, in both its ordinariness and originality. The People’s Powerhouse Listening Events give people an opportunity to share their thoughts to ensure those with influence create the change that matters to people. We bring diverse voices together, to share the issues that affect Northerners so better choices are made.

Following our successful Convention in November 2020, metro mayors Jamie Driscoll, Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram want to continue to engage more people in the discussion about what needs to change in the North.

At our first Listening Event for 2021, we will be joined by these three northern mayors between 11.00-12.00. They will hear your priorities for how we create a re-set for the future, together. They will also share what they’ve learnt during the last 12 months and talk about the role of a metro mayor during the pandemic.

It doesn’t have to be like this.

The past 12 months have highlighted the disparities, inequalities and difference that already existed, leaving people and communities vulnerable. They have also shown the value and strength of our communities in the North.

The social and economic systems aren’t working for all people: whether carers on zero hours, paying a real living wage, protecting our environment, or tackling injustice. It’s important to know what you think.

There are so many lessons to be learned from the past 12 months. That’s why we want to hear your views about what needs to change, and what changes from the past 12 months we need to hold on to.

Stay in touch with the People's Powerhouse and hear about future listening events on the environment, families affected by Covid, racial justice and other topics by signing up using the button at the foot of this page.
