“To change the conversation, we have to change who is part of it”

The Seven British Tribes

The Seven British Tribes

What unites people across the North and the UK? In a time that has been described as one filled with divisions – between Remain and Leave, young and old, cities and small towns/villages, ‘white collar’ and ‘blue collar’, North and South – what are the principles and ideas that could genuinely bring us together?

Trying to find answers to these questions is what motivates Tim Dixon and the ‘More in Common’ UK team. It has resulted in their latest report, Britain’s Choice: Common Ground and Division in 2020s Britain, which was the product of thousands of conversations and surveys with a representative sample of over 10,000 people from across the UK. We were lucky that the More In Common teamed up with the People’s Powerhouse to share what they have found and what this means for the North and our post-Covid future.
