In March 2020 People’s Powerhouse went to Redcar and Cleveland, with the sole aim of hearing from people who are often not heard. We listened to people in Dormanstown, South Bank, Eston and Loftus; all communities that surround Middlesbrough, and sit within the boundaries of Redcar and Cleveland local authority.

We all know about the high levels of inequality across our region, about the lack of access to reliable and affordable public transportation, and the rising numbers of people who are relying on food banks in order to put food on the table.
On the 19 November 2019, we held our third annual People’s Powerhouse Convention in Sunderland. It was a fantastic day filled with celebration, collaboration and learning.
Last week we held our 3rd annual People’s Powerhouse Convention, with over 250 people, 23 different workshop sessions, a People’s Powerhouse communal choir, art exhibitions, poems and a metro mayor there is lots to reflect on and think about as we head into 2020.
